Premiering on Broadway in 1945, The Glass Menagerie was Tennessee Williams’ first great popular success. Set in St. Louis in the 1930’s, this “memory play” tells the story of the Wingfield family- Tom, who is torn between his obligation to his family and his desire to break away; his overbearing mother, Amanda; and his frail sister Laura, whose memory he cannot escape.

Great News!!! The University of North Alabama National Alumni Association  is hosting the 2006 Fine Arts Festival (FAF) on the UNA Campus  for the eighth year  to raise funds for scholarships at the University. This year we will raise funds for the Gladys Shepard Scholarship for the Department of Communications.

The 2006 FAF is scheduled for March 18, 2006 in the Guillot University Center atrium. A celebrity serve Banquet, complete with an absolute auction, will begin at 5:00 p.m.  Guests will proceed to Norton Auditorium to view the student production of The Glass Menagerie.  Alumni and friends are  invited and encouraged to participate in this extraordinary event.

Please respond to the Office of Alumni Relations (205) 765-4201 for questions regarding the 2006 FAF.
