The UNA National Alumni Association

and
UNA Career Services
Mentor Program
2007

The UNA National Alumni Association has paired with UNA Career Services to create a mentor program for UNA students. The Mentor Program was established to create relationships between UNA students and UNA alumni who are willing to share their professional insights. The program provides an opportunity for students and alumni to interact and discuss career goals. Students gain firsthand knowledge of the trends, realities, and expectations of their chosen career field.

Mentors for this program are UNA alumni and friends who are currently established in their professions or who have made significant contributions to the community in support of UNA. These individuals are volunteers who wish to support future colleagues by serving as a source of information for UNA students.

Once we receive all mentor volunteer applications, we will compile a list of careers and descriptions for students who sign up for the program. By rare occurrence, if there are no students from your field to sign up, we will keep your information on file for next year.

It’s easy and at your convenience.

Minimum Participation from the Mentor Includes:

  • Attending the training and orientation.

  • Interacting with the student at least four times during the program term,    (i.e., via telephone, e-mail, face-to-face visit, etc.)

  • Sharing career experience and advice with students.

  • Identifying critical networking opportunities.
