Tara Bullington-Baker received her BFA from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa in Painting and Sculpture, before moving to Los Angeles to live and work as an artist. She then attended Memphis College of Art, earning her MFA in Studio Arts; whereupon she was granted the MCA Traveling Fellowship Award, allowing her to spend time in London, studying the contemporary art scene.
Bullington-Baker is both sculptor and painter. Her work evolves intuitively by constructing dimensional drawings with line, shadows, and found objects.
“She works with simple, similar forms and repetitive construction techniques to achieve variety through combinations and through the intrinsic variability of materials” –D. Maddox
