Building Effective Teams – Concepts and Applications (Parts I and II)
The importance of teams in the workplace cannot be overstated yet a large percentage of workers do not understand the basics of building an effective team.  Participants will be exposed to the value of appreciating the talents and skills that others bring to team environment.  The ability to function as a team is emphasized in this program.  Part I will emphasize personality profiles and team selection techniques and Part II will focus on how a team interacts and performs.  (includes textbook)

Understanding Your Role as a Supervisor
Many workplace frustrations flow from misunderstandings between supervisors and managers about what the supervisor’s specific role in the organization is.  If we want our supervisors to succeed in the organization, we must communicate our expectations in a clear manner.  In this session, you will learn what the organization expects from you and how your role fits into the organization.

The Value of Learning to Welcome and Accept Change
The concept of change is not new; just the speed in which change is occurring in today’s workplace has caught many workers unprepared.  This program is designed to encourage individuals to view change as a challenge and opportunity as opposed to an obstacle and threat.  Change will continue to occur at an increasing rate, we need to learn to accept that fact and develop strategies to take advantage of the opportunities that change creates.

Facilitation Techniques for Improving Effectiveness
A facilitator is essentially a leader in that their mission is to influence the behavior of other individuals toward a specific goal.  The skills necessary for a facilitator to possess include but are not limited to the following:  communication skills (verbal, non-verbal), active listening and feedback skills, team building skills, problem-solving skills, decision making skills, and conflict resolution skills.  The tools required to be an effective facilitator will also be presented using a hands-on approach.  These essential skills include brainstorming, fish-bone diagrams, Pareto concepts, and voting (decision) techniques. This session will focus on developing the above-mentioned skills and tools within a team framework.

The Importance of Trust in Personal and Professional Relationships
The importance of establishing, nurturing and sustaining trust in a leadership/follower relationship is a critical component of successful and effective leadership.  The session will focus on approaches to assist a leader in understanding the importance that trust plays in all relationships that people have with each other.

Steps to Better Problem Solving and Decision-Making
A major problem in today’s workplace is the inability of managers to make effective, timely decisions.  This program is designed to enable managers to approach decision making in a systematic and consistent manner utilizing tools and techniques which have proven to be effective.  These include brainstorming, fish-bone diagrams, Pareto concepts, and voting (decision) techniques.

Conflict Resolution
Most people agree that conflict is eventually inevitable; the key is how one handles the conflict.  Conflict is a part of everyday life in the workplace.  Participants will learn about the various types and levels of conflict and also several proven techniques to turn conflict into a positive interaction with others.

The Value of Ethical Behavior
The value of ethical behavior in the workplace is often overlooked in today’s fast-paced “dog-eat-dog” environment.  Participants will learn to define the sometimes elusive concept of business ethics and how ethics fit into the work environment.  This seminar stresses the importance of ethical behavior for both leaders and followers.

Giving and Receiving Feedback
Feedback is an indispensable part of our daily lives.  Given properly, feedback can turn a non-productive employee into an effective contributor.  Taken well, feedback can increase an individual’s opportunities for growth and development.  This session will empower mangers and supervisors by providing approaches to give and receive feedback constructively.

Motivation Techniques That Work
There is no such thing as an unmotivated person, but there are unmotivated people in the workplace.  In the current business environment, the competitive advantage goes to the organization whose employees are both professionally and personally motivated.  This session focuses on the personal enrichment of employees and attention is devoted to various motivation techniques that are useful both inside and outside the work environment.

Dealing with Difficult People
The difficult people in any organization often hurt productivity, dampen morale and impact quality.   This seminar explores strategies for getting results from hard-to-handle people, including bosses and peers as well as employees.  Participants will learn techniques to deal with difficult people in a confident, competent, non-combative manner.  Participants will also learn to recognize when they are the “difficult people” and what to do in those situations.

Leadership Skills Development
The challenges that face managers/leaders in the workplace of today can be frightening if one is caught unprepared.  The adage “if all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail” has never been more true.  Participants will take a series of leadership assessments to ascertain what their leadership skills are and then develop a plan to improve upon existing skills and add others to their toolbox.

Communication and Human Behavior I & II
The success of our supervisors is significantly tied to their ability to communicate with team members.  This course will provide supervisors a greater understanding of the communication process, as well as the effects of positive interactions in the workplace.

Emotional Intelligence (Parts I and II)
The importance of understanding and using emotions can be an effective tool to help oneself and others become a more effective and productive employee.  The emerging field of Emotional Intelligence (EI) is growing in popularity and acceptance among numerous major corporations in the U.S.

In Part I, participants will be given a step-by-step approach to understanding and developing the emotional competencies in order to bring more creativity and energy into their job performance.

In Part II, participants will be given an emotional intelligence questionnaire and the facilitator will analyze and discuss the various applications of EI. (includes textbook)

Situational Leadership Concepts and Applications (Part I and II)
The search for the “one best leadership style” is a long and winding road.  Most organizations now realize that their “leaders” must be able to diagnosis the situation and utilize the most effective leadership style for that specific situation.  The situational leadership (SL) approach mandates that leaders be able to distinguish between what is an ability problem versus a motivation problem and proceed from that point.  This session will expose the participants to the importance of learning several leadership styles and to the fundamentals of the situational leadership approach.  In Part I, the concept of SL will be discussed and in Part II, hands-on application exercises will be the primary focus. (includes textbook)

Coaching for Top Performance (Parts I and II)
Workplace coaching can be defines as “working directly with an employee to improve a specific job-related skill, behavior or the overall performance of the employee.”  This is accomplished through a combination of teaching, motivating and challenging individuals to take their performance to a higher level.  This seminar will assist ‘coaches’ by providing techniques to get the most from their players.  (includes textbook)

Strategic Planning Facilitation – Concepts and Applications (Parts I and II)
This program will expose the participants to the importance of strategic planning and take them through the steps in developing a plan from the vision statement to the action plans.  Part I of this program will explain the terms and concepts of strategic planning and their importance in the strategic planning process.  Part II will be an actual application of the planning process and the facilitation techniques necessary to develop a successful strategic plan. (includes textbook)

Operations Management Concepts for Gaining Competitive Advantage
