University of North Alabama Advancement believes that the keys to success in any endeavor are people and the relationships we have with them. On March 1, UNA Advancement will launch our month-long 1830 Giving Initiative in conjunction with our Shine On, Gold campaign. The purpose of the 1830 Giving Initiative is to give individuals the opportunity to experience the true joy of giving while empowering our great University, faculty, staff, and students to become all they are capable of becoming. With a nod to our founding year of 1830, we hope to inspire 1,830 individual alumni and friends to give a gift of at least $10 during the month of March to one of our campaign priorities, OR to the area of campus that means the most to them.
This year, we are also asking all of our supporters to “Be ONE. Bring ONE,” and we respectfully ask you to encourage your spouse, partner, family, and friends to give as well. Every individual who gives a gift during the month of March will receive a 2024 commemorative 1830 Giving Initiative Challenge Coin, and be counted as one of our Shine On, Gold supporters.

Frequently Asked Questions
The purpose of a UNA Giving Day is to create a fundraising platform for specific areas of need on the campus of the University of North Alabama. We invite alumni, friends, parents, faculty, staff, and the community to participate. We want to give our donors the opportunity to give where their passion lies. Our primary goal is participation. When a large group of people come together, no matter the size of their individual gifts, the cumulative results make an impact on the lives of our students and our University. We invite all alumni and friends to participate in as many UNA Giving Days as they feel led to!
