- Be sure you are using a Browser and Operating System supported by ANGEL.
- The following browsers are supported by ANGEL 8.0:
- Windows: Internet Explorer 8 and 9; Firefox 3.5, 3.6, 4, 5; Google Chrome 10, 11, 12
- Mac: Firefox 3.5, 3.6, 4, 5; Safari 5; Google Chrome 10, 11, 12
- Newer versions of the above browsers should work, but are not guaranteed to work. Use at your own risk.
- The following Operating Systems are supported by ANGEL 8.0:
- Windows: XP, Vista, Win 7
- Mac: OS X 10.4, 10.5, 10.6, and 10.7
- Bypass UNAPortal and log directly into ANGEL at https://una.ANGELlearning.com using your UNA Portal username and password.
- Clear your browser's cache:
To clear your browser's cache, do one of the following:
Don't know your browser version? Click on the Browser's "Help" menu and "About (browser name)"
- If you are using Firefox v3.5 or later, do the following:
- Start Firefox
- Click on "Tools" then "Clear Recent History"
- Change "Time range to clear" to "Everything"
- Click on pulldown arrow beside "Details"
- Check all boxes
- Click on "Clear Now"
- Close and reopen your browser

- Start Chrome
- Click the wrench icon wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
- Select Tools.
- Select Clear browsing data.
- In the dialog that appears, select the checkboxes for the types of information that you want to remove.
- Use the menu at the top to select the amount of data that you want to delete.
- Select beginning of time to delete everything.
- Click Clear browsing data.
- Close and reopen your browser

- Click Safari on the Menu
- Click "Empty Cache"
- Click "Empty"
- Close and reopen your browser
- Start IE7
- Click on "Tools" then "Internet Options"
- Click on "Delete" under Browsing History
- Click on "Delete All"
- Check box for "Also delete files and settings stored by add-ons"
- Click "Yes"
- Start IE
- Click on "Tools" then "Internet Options"
- Click on "Delete" under Browsing History
- Place a check in all boxes from "Temporary" to "InPrivate"
- Click on "Delete"
- If you are using Firefox v3.5 or later, do the following:
- In Internet Explorer, add these UNA websites to your trusted sites list.

- This error occurs with Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher. Do the following from within Internet Explorer:
- Click on the Tools menu
- Internet Options
- Security Tab
- Choose Trusted Sites
- Click Sites
- Uncheck "Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone
- Add unaportal.una.edu
- Add www.screencast.com
- Add una.angellearning.com
- Click Close
- Click OK
- This error occurs with Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher. Do the following from within Internet Explorer:

- 1. Update your flash player.
- If you have issues streaming video on your internet connection, pause the video and let it buffer to the end before attempting playback.
- Try using a different web browser to watch the videos.
- If you continue to have trouble, contact support.
- I want to use my iPad/Android table to access Angel
- Once logged into ANGEL, click the PDA button at the lower left. This should allow you to read materials.
- iPad only: For the purposes of reading course materials, it helps if, once logged in, you hold your finger down on the Lessons tab and tell it to open in a new window.
- How do I find the syllabus for my course in ANGEL?
- If your instructor has uploaded a syllabus it will be located under the Resources tab in your course.
- Where is the course content in ANGEL?
- The majority of course materials will be located under the Lessons tab. Discussion Topics and Chats may also be listed on the Communicate tab
- How do I see Due Dates/Availability Dates?

To see the class milestones (a.k.a assignments & due dates) follow these instructions: Select "Tasks" at the bottom of the window to your left. Click [+] by the word Milestones to open the list. The list will show you both assigned and due dates for all class activities.
As you complete a task, check the box by the item completed. The completed item will then drop to the bottom of your list. The milestones list will show both assigned dates and due dates as they appear in the calendar for all course activities.
- How do I upload a photo to my profile in Angel?

- When in ANGEL on the left side powerbar - select the 4th button down (picture of a head)
- Select Personal Information
- Add Picture of Yourself - Line says (Photo URL) select ADD button
- Browse to get your picture
- Beside Photo URL there is a VIEWABLE BY Box. Be sure it says "Student/Member"
- To upload picture click on title of picture so it appears in a color bloc
- Save at bottom of page.

- Go to Communicate Tab
- Select Course Roster
- Show Pictures (Very small font near top of page)

- How do I view my Grades in ANGEL?
- You may view your grades under the Report tab
- Go to the Report tab.
- For Category, select Grades.
- For Report, select Grades.

- Change to Nested view
- Select "All Posts" instead of unread

- Login to ANGEL
- Under Course Mail, go to View Inbox
- Click Preferences in the upper right corner
- Change the Forward to Internet E-Mail field to the setting of your choice
- In the Email Address field, enter your email address
- Click Save at the bottom left
- How do I hide my old/unwanted courses in the Course list?
- All courses in Angel are divided according to semester (201210, 201220, etc.).
- To stop seeing all the courses for a specific semester"
- Click the minus sign (-) to the left of the category title. It will change to a plus sign (+) and all the courses will collapse.
- If you want to see the courses again, click the plus sign (+) to expand the list
- To stop seeing any single/multiple courses:
- Hover your mouse over the top of the course list (where it says Courses) and then click the pencil that appears
- Uncheck the boxes of the courses you do not wish to see
- Click Save
- If you want to see the courses again, repeat the process, this time checking the boxes of courses you wish to see.
- When I follow a link I receive the message: "Navigation to the webpage was cancelled please retype the address"

- This error occurs with Internet Explorer 7.0 or higher. Do the following from within Internet Explorer:
- How do I cut and paste content in ANGEL? or paste from Microsoft Word?
- You cannot right-click and cut/copy and paste in ANGEL. Instead, you must the following keyboard shortcuts:
- Cut: ctrl+x keys on a PC or command + x on a Mac
- Copy: ctrl+c keys on a PC or command + c on a Mac
- Paste: ctrl+v keys on a PC or command + v on a Mac
- Copy and paste from Microsoft Word (and keep formatting).
- Copy your text from MS Word
- In ANGEL, at the textbox area (Mail, Discussions, DropBox, etc.), click the triangle button between the Clipboard icon and the B (bold) icon--See screen capture.
- Select Paste from Word
- Follow the instructions "Please paste inside the following box using the keyboard (Ctrl+V) and hit OK."
- Click Ok
- My course has materials that are in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or Access and I don't have Microsoft Office.
- You have several options:
- Download Microsoft Office Viewer software from: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/downloads/HA010449811033.aspx
- Purchase a student/educational version of Microsoft Office. You may wish to check with the UNA Bookstore or visit a site such as Journeyed.com.
- Use OpenOffice, a free and open productivity suite. More information is available at: http://www.openoffice.org
- Angel tells me a file is too large to upload.
- Angel limits uploads and attachments to 5 MB.
- If you are trying to upload an Office document with images such as Word or PowerPoint, try compressing the images: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/powerpoint-help/reduce-the-file-size-of-a-picture-HA010355854.aspx
- If your instructor allows it, consider compressing the file into a zip file
- Taking an assessment using the Lockdown browser:

- Close all programs, unless one is used to connect to the Internet.
- Locate the "LockDown Browser" shortcut on the desktop and double-click it (for Macintosh users, launch "LockDown Browser" from the Applications folder).
- If prompted to close a blocked program (e.g. screen capture, instant messaging), choose Yes when prompted.
- Login to your ANGEL course.
- Navigate to the assessment and select the Begin now button. (If the Begin now button is unavailable, it means that you are not running Respondus LockDown Browser.)
- Once an assessment has been started with Respondus LockDown Browser, you cannot exit until the Submit button is clicked.
- I rebooted my computer while Respondus LockDown Browser was running. Now the Windows Task Manager is grayed out and can't be used. What do I do?

- If a computer is powered down while Respondus LockDown Browser is running, the Windows Task Manager will continue to be blocked when the computer is restarted.
- To remove the blocking, restart Respondus LockDown Browser and exit the program properly (click the "X" in the top right corner).
- The Lockdown browser tells me I need to exit the Dell Dock.

- Right click on the Dell Dock and select "Close the dock". Click on "Yes" (Close the dock). (Click on "No" (Keep the dock running) or the close button to cancel.)
- If you don't want to be asked this question again in the future, check the box next to "Don't ask me this question again".

- The Lockdown browser tells me I need to exit Google Desktop.

- Click Exit in the Desktop taskbar icon menu. Note that if you restart your computer, Google Desktop automatically turns itself on.

After the submission has been completed a digital receipt is displayed on screen. A copy is also sent via e-mail to the address for the user login. Save the receipt and the paper ID it contains, as this is proof of a completed submission. The digital receipt contains a unique paper ID number, the name of the user profile submitting, the paper title given by the submitting party, the assignment title, and the e-mail address for the user submitting, as well as the body text of the file submitted

Blackboard/Angel, Inc. and UNA do not officially support the mobile version of Safari (iPad, iPod, iPhone)or the Android Browser. Anything you do is at your own risk!!!!Both the Android browser and the mobile version of Safari have difficulty submitting materials in ANGEL and should only be used to read in ANGEL. Do not use them for discussions, testing, or other gradeable items!
