Bachelor's Degree Programs

UNA offers undergraduate programs that lead to Alabama Professional Educator Certification in the following teaching fields: biology, business marketing, chemistry, collaborative teacher, early childhood, elementary, English language arts, family and consumer sciences, French, general science, general social science, geography, German, history, mathematics, music-choral, music-instrumental, physical education, physics, Spanish, and visual arts.

The College of Education & Human Sciences offers undergraduate non-teaching majors/concentrations in exercise science, fitness management, health promotion, recreation, and sport management in the Department of Health , Physical Education and Recreation; and child development, culinary arts, foods and nutrition, interior design, and merchandising in the Department of Human Environmental Sciences.

Alternative Master's Degree Programs

UNA offers alternative master’s (5th year) programs that lead to Alabama Professional Educator Certification in the following teaching fields: biology, business marketing, chemistry, English for speakers of other languages, English language arts, general science, general social science, history, mathematics, music-choral, music-instrumental, and physical education.

Traditional Master's Degree Programs

UNA offers traditional master’s programs that lead to Alabama Professional Educator Certification in the following teaching fields and instructional support areas: biology, business marketing, chemistry, collaborative teacher (special education), elementary, English for speakers of other languages, English language arts, general science, general social science, geography, history, instructional leadership, mathematics, music-choral, music-instrumental, physical education, physics, and school counseling.

In addition, non-certification programs in community counseling and health and human performance are offered at the master’s level.

Education Specialist Degree Programs

UNA offers the Education Specialist degree programs that leads to certification in elementary, instructional leadership, & teacher leader.

Doctorate of Education Degree Program

In addition to the UNA course and program offerings, we are pleased to announce our recent partnership with the University of Alabama that will bring their Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in instructional leadership to the UNA campus beginning fall 2010.
