Text Box: Submission Guidelines Submissions are accepted from any current student (undergraduate, graduate, or part-time) at the University of North Alabama.  All submissions must be original works, must be typed, and must include name, phone number, and UNA Box number.  Please specify genre.  All entries must emailed as an MS Word attachment to lightsandshadows@una.du,    Submissions are accepted in both the fall and spring semesters.  Contact English Department for current deadlines.  For additional information, please contact Mr. Daryl Brown through the Department of English. Text Box: History Lights & Shadows is the University of North Alabama's literary and art magazine. It is published once a year. Lights & Shadows was originally started as a publication of the English Club in 1956. Since that time, the magazine has won numerous awards, including first place in the Southern Literary Association's annual literary competition. The magazine now also includes work from art students at UNA. The faculty sponsor for the magazine is Daryl Brown.
