Southeastern United States winner for Outstanding Celebration of Teaching Program Award.  The award was given by Kappa Delta Pi for taking low socioeconomic minority students from R.A. Hubbard High School in Courtland, AL to Clements Elementary to mentor the elementary students with limited English proficiency.  The high school students were also paired as reading buddies with the elementary students and both groups read stories to each other in English and Spanish.  January-May 2005.

Took Field Trip with low socioeconomic minority students from R.A. Hubbard High School in Courtland, AL to University of North Alabama.  The high school students associated with UNA students, met faculty, toured campus, and received UNA sweatshirts and key lanyards.  April 2005.

 

Collected and donated over 4,000 books to low socioeconomic children and families with limited English proficiency, 2004-2005.

 

Organized fundraising and door prizes to be given to cooperating teachers in appreciation for helping student teachers of University of North Alabama, 2003-2004.
