Endowed Scholarships for History/Political Science Majors
Richard Glenn Lentz. Open to full-time students pursuing degrees in the Departments of English or History, or in programs of study in journalism or media studies. Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.
Frank B. Mallonee. Pre-law students nominated by Department of History and Political Science. Preference given to rising seniors who are Pre-Law majors. This scholarship is for one academic year only, but prior recipients may reapply.
Susan Kirkman Vaughn. Full-time junior or senior history major with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Renewable with a 3.0 grade point average. Briefly discuss your academic and vocational plans and goals. Selected by History Department.
Harriet and George T. Mueller Endowed Scholarship. Open to full-time students enrolled in the Department of History and Political Science who are pursuing a major in Political Science. The recipient(s) of the scholarship fund shall be selected by a committee comprised of all full-time political science faculty in consultation with the Office of Financial Aid. At the discretion of the Department Chair, another faculty member from the Department of History and Political Science may serve on the committee. Only students who have achieved Junior or Senior class status and who are Political Science majors will be eligible for a scholarship. Priority consideration will be given to Political Science major(s) whose career goals include graduate study in Political Science. Other award selection criteria will include:
Awards to fund scholarship(s) can be made annually. The current scholarship holder(s) must reapply on an annual basis. The scholarship amount will not exceed that which is necessary for tuition and fees and books.
Not all endowed scholarships are awarded each year.
