Dawn Corine Allfrey.  Awarded to a graduating senior from Athens High School.  Selected by Athens High School.

Alumni Scholars.  Awarded on the basis of outstanding leadership during high school years, as reported on the application for the UNA Leadership Scholarship. 

Clyde W. Anderson.  Open to all students; awarded to deserving young men and women at the University of North Alabama.  Each scholarship is for one academic year.  Selected by the College of Admissions.

Marcia Austin.  Eligible student nominated by Colbert County High School officials.

Martha Lou Benton.  Full-time students with preference given to students who attended Kilby Laboratory School.  This scholarship is for one academic year only, but prior recipients may reapply during subsequent years.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Coach Ed Billingham.  Awarded to student who demonstrates outstanding leadership and academic abilities.  Recipient may not receive any other UNA scholarship.  Selected by special committee. 

Jerry Moore Billingsley.  Open to all full-time students.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Blackwell Scholarship.  Open to all full-time students.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Coby Stockard Brubaker.  Based on outstanding and strong scholastic performance during high school years, as reported on the application for UNA Leadership Scholarship. 

Marvin A. and Grace Bryan.  Open to full-time students from Lawrence County and Wayne County, Tennessee.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

William G. Cale, Jr. Memorial Tennis. First priority shall be given to students who are members of the men's or women's varsity tennis team and enrolled in good standing as a full-time student in any discipline. Selected by the Director of Athletics and Tennis Coach in consultation with the Office of Student Financial Services.

Coffee High School Alumni.  Awarded to graduated of Florence High School, Florence, Alabama, who enroll as full-time undergraduate students, without regard to their major field of study.  Preference given to applicants with demonstrated financial need and high academic achievement.  Recipients selected by the University Committee.  Prior recipients may reapply for subsequent years.

Inez Holcombe Chandler and Vickie Charleen Parker Memorial.  Awarded to deserving new freshmen selected by the Office of Admissions, along with high school guidance counselors who have knowledge of deserving students who demonstrate leadership qualities and financial need.

Lt. Phillip Don Childers.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Delores and Weldon Cole Honors.  Open to students enrolled in the University Honors Program.  Selection as a scholarship recipient shall be made by the Director of the Honors Program and will be based on the student's record of academic achievement.

Mary and Raymond F. Deeters.  Open to all students; preference given to qualified students from Fairview High School in Cullman County, Alabama.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Kathy Dickerson.  Open to all students; awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Karen Pressnell Duncan.  Recipients must be full-time student with financial need, who have demonstrated success through both grades and college entrance exams.  Scholarship is for one academic year only, but prior recipients may re-apply.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee. 

Lambert-Ezell-Durham.  Open to all students.  This scholarship is for one year only, but prior recipients may re-apply.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Max Earwood.  Open to all students who reside in Lauderdale County, Alabama. Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Prior recipients may re-apply.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Faculty Endowed. First priority is given to students who have achieved a GPA of 3.50 to 4.0. Second priority is given to students with a GPA of 3.0 to 3.49. Selected by the office of Student Financial Services in consultation with the Faculty Senate.

James Eddie Frost Memorial.  Open to full-time students who are current residents of Public Housing or a participant in the Housing Choice Voucher Program, or any successor program, of the Florence, Alabama Housing Authority.  Must have been in such residence for a minimum of two years prior to date of application.  Each applicant must expect to graduate from high school or receive a GED certificate in the spring of the year of application and must be planning to enroll at UNA the following fall.  Selection will be based primarily on academic achievement with consideration given to extra-curricular and community activities.  Prior recipients must apply during subsequent years.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

William F. "Bill" Gardiner.  Preference given to full-time transfer student from Northwest/Shoals Community College.  This scholarship is for one academic year only.

Michael Gargis.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Pauline Gravlee.  Available to students who have completed a minimum of 48 credit hours at UNA, prior to the beginning of the academic year for which the scholarship will be awarded.  Student must have a 2.8 cumulative GPA at the time of application.  Preference will be given to women applicants.  For more information, please contact the Office of Student Life.  Deadline to apply is March 1.

Thaddeus Green Memorial.  Open to full-time students from Lauderdale County, Alabama or Lawrence County, Tennessee.  Applicants must demonstrate financial need.  Each application must be accompanied by a letter of recommendation from a teacher at Lexington High School.  Each scholarship is for one academic year only.  Prior recipients may reapply during subsequent years.  Selected by a special committee of representatives for Digital Operations Corporation and a UNA faculty member.

Becky Grubb.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Rhett Harrell. Recipients should meet some of the following criteria: demonstrate financial need, deserving student who may be working while pursuing a degree, maintain at least a "B" average, does not qualify for other academic scholarships. Selected by the Chair of the Accounting Department, Dean of the College of Business, and Director of Student Financial Services.

Laura M. Harrison.  Open to all full-time female students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee

Hassell Scholarship.  Awarded to deserving students.  Preference will be given to students from and near Wayne County, Tennessee.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Harlon Hill.   Awarded to an outstanding student athlete during the spring of his/her senior year of undergraduate school at UNA.  The recipient must plan to enroll in graduate or professional school either at UNA or at another university upon his/her graduation from UNA.  Scholarship is provided for first semester of graduate studies.  Selected by the Athletics Department.

The Harlon Hill Golf Classic Fund.  Open to all students.  Financial need and successful grades will be deciding factors.  Students selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Eunice and George Hoffmeister.  Designated to non-music majors who wish to include a college- level piano instruction in their curriculum, and who, on evaluation by the faculty of the Department of Music, demonstrate sufficient aptitude and previous experience to benefit significantly from college level piano instruction at UNA. Recipients are selected by recommendations from the Department of Music.

James Vernon Jolly. First priority is given to sight-impaired applicants; Second priority is given to applicants with other physical disabilities; Third priority is given to applicants with other special needs. This scholarship is renewable for subsequent years. Selected by a special Student Financial Services Committee.

Junior League of Muscle Shoals.  Open to students with disabilities, who show evidence of financial need, and whose eligibility has been pre-determined by the Adult Vocational Rehabilitation Service.  Renewable if a 2.50 GPA is maintained as a full-time student up to a total of eight semesters (Fall and Spring only) or until recipient receives an undergraduate degree at UNA, whichever occurs sooner.  Special application is available through Student Financial Services.  The deadline to apply is April 1 for the following year.

John Michael "Jack" Karnes.  For student athletes whose eligibility has expired but who have not completed their degree requirements.  Former student athletes within 30 hours of graduation with minimum 2.0 GPA are eligible to apply for the scholarship.  Selected by the Athletic Department.

Stella Dyar Kelly.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Mary Earle King.  Open to all students.  This scholarship is for one academic year.  Prior recipients may re-apply.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Melva Moody Koonce.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Listerhill Employees Credit Union/UNA Alumni.  Open to all students who have demonstrated potential for success through grades and college entrance examination scores.  Preference to children of employees or children of members of Listerhill Employees Credit Union.  This scholarship is for one year only, but prior recipients may reapply.

Claudia Jeanette Marsh.   Recipients should be full-time students who have demonstrated success through grades and college entrance examinations. Preference given to recipients who earned their high school diplomas through a GED program. Each scholarship is for one academic year only. Prior recipients may reapply during subsequent years.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Charles N Martin, Jr.  $1000/year scholarships for residents of rural Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marion, Morgan, Walker, or Winston counties in Alabama; Alcorn, Benton, Itawamba, Marshall, Prentiss, and Tishomingo counties in Mississippi; Giles, Hardin, Lawrence, McNairy, and Wayne counties in Tennessee. Other criteria: ACT, 18-25; 2.25 GPA on high school core; financial need.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

John C. Martin Leadership.  This scholarship is available to students who have completed a minimum of 48 hours at UNA prior to the year for which the scholarship will be awarded and have a 2.8 cumulative GPA at the time of application. Joseph A. and Genevieve C. Matthews. Recipients shall be graduates of one of the following Alabama high schools, in order of preference: 1) Fairview High School, Cullman and Walker High School, Jasper;  2) Lamar County High School, Vernon.  Recipients shall be full-time students, selected on the basis of academic merit and leadership service, not on the basis of financial need.

Reuben Warren "Button" Matthews. To assist deserving young men and women at the University of North Alabama. Preference will be given to a full-time student who has achieved his/her high school diploma through a GED program.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

James Ray McCorkle. Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA. Priority is given to upper classmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Gilbert R. Melson.  Open to all students.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Jerry Mills. Recipients shall be a graduate of Sheffield High School, Alabama. Prior recipients may reapply for subsequent years, provided they remain in enrolled as a full-time student,  in good academic standing, and maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the university. Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Celestine Martin Mitchell.  Awarded to deserving students with preference to students from (1) Lauderdale County, or (2) Lawrence County, Alabama. Prior recipients may reapply.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Betty Johnson Mullins - Festival of Trees.  Open to full time students who demonstrate exceptional leadership abilities and have a minimum GPA of 2.75.  This scholarship is for one academic year but prior recipients may reapply for this scholarship during subsequent years.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Muscle Shoals TVA Federally Employed Women.  Awarded to a deserving student.  Selected by Muscle Shoals TVA Federal Employee Women Scholarship Committee.

E.B. Norton.  Deserving full-time students who have demonstrated academic merit and financial need.

Virginia Bayless O'Connell Honors.  Recipients shall be enrolled as full-time students in the University Honors Program and have demonstrated financial need.  This scholarship is for one year.  Prior recipients may reapply.  Selected by a committee appointed by the President in consultation with the Director of the University Honors Program.

Inez Holcomb Chandler and Vickie Charleen Parker Memorial. First priority will be given to students with sufficient need, based on calculations from the Offices of Student Financial Services and Admissions and high school guidance counselors; second priority will be given to students who demonstrate financial need and leadership skills; third priority is given to students who demonstrate financial need. Selection made by the Office of Admissions.

Donald H. Patterson Memorial. Open to all students.  Awarded to deserving young men and women at the University of North Alabama. This scholarship is for one academic year only. Prior recipients may reapply for this scholarship during subsequent years.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Huston Patton, Jr. Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upper classmen.  Renewable with a "B" average.

Elliott and Bonnie Pood.  One scholarship is for communication majors with preference to organizational communication majors.  The recipient is selected by a Communications Dept. committee.  A second scholarship is for a Freshmen or Sophomore student enrolled in a Military Science course and not currently receiving an ROTC scholarship.   The recipient must be enrolled in a Military Science course in the spring semester and have at least an overall 2.0 GPA.  A Military Science panel will select the recipient.  Both scholarships are for one academic year but prior recipients may reapply.

Geneva Hill and Martin & Mable Cooper Posey.  Open to all students with preference to students who reside in Madison County, Alabama. This scholarship is for one year but prior recipients may reapply for subsequent years.  Selected by the Office of Admissions.

Morton Prouty, Jr.  Children of employees of Midcoast Energy Resources (formally Atrion).  Nominations by Midcoast Energy Resources.

Henry Grady Richards.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upperclassmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Robbins, Crews and Associates.  Open to all students.  This scholarship is for one year but prior recipients may reapply for subsequent years.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Martha Rose and Stanley Robbins.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA. Priority is given to upper classmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

James Earl Romine.   Preference to full-time students with a parent who is a law enforcement officer from Colbert, Franklin, or Lauderdale counties in Alabama.  Otherwise, preference to son or daughter of law enforcement officer or to a Criminal Justice major.  Selected by special committee.

Schilling Foundation UNA Alumni.  Entering freshmen who plan to enter a Christian vocation such as ministry, religious education, church music ministry, church administration and youth work. Renewable with a 2.0 GPA. Selected by the UNA Alumni Scholarship Committee.

D. Mitchell Self.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.  Priority is given to upper classmen.  Renewable with a 2.0 cumulative GPA.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Hal Self Student Athlete Post-Graduate. First priority is given to students who have played on scholarship for at least two years for any varsity team in the Department of Athletics, have graduated from the university, whose eligibility for an academic scholarship has expired, and who have enrolled as a full-time post-graduate students in any academic discipline. Selected by the University Department of Athletics and the Office of Student Financial Services.

Chris Burns and Alex Sloan Golf Program. First priority will be given to students who are Alabama residents with a minimum 2.50 GPA for the academic year; second priority is given to out-of-state students who maintain a minimum 2.50 GPA during the academic year.

Clifford & Bessie Soedt.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA. Priority is given to upper classmen.  Renewable with a cumulative 2.5 GPA.

James H. Tanner Memorial Fund.   Awarded to students who have financial need and a potential for success through grades and college entrance examination scores.  First preference to student athletes who are no longer eligible for athletic scholarships.  Second preference to students majoring in Biology, Chemistry or Physics.

Tennessee River, Inc. Employee.  Open to all students.

Bonnie Dell Treece.  Open to all students who have financial need.  Preference will be given to students whose career goals include working with individuals who have disabilities.  This scholarship is for one year only, but prior recipients may reapply.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.

Ted Treece.  Open to full students who have financial need.  Preference given to students who are members of the UNA golf team.  This scholarship is for one year only but prior recipients may reapply.  Selected by the Athletic Department.

UNA Memorial Scholarships.  Over the years the University of North Alabama has received many gifts in memory or in honor of different individuals who held the University in high regard. Many of these gifts have been designated for scholarships, and they are invested in a perpetual scholarship fund known as the UNA Memorial Scholarship. Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA.

United Daughters of the Confederacy (Alabama Division).  Alabama residents with lineal descendants of worthy Confederates or collateral descendants who are members of the Children of the Confederacy or of the United Daughters of the Confederacy. Special application available in Student Financial Services.

Eula Ethel White Memorial.  Graduates of Brilliant High School, Brilliant, Alabama, or lineal descendants of Eula Ethel White, regardless of where they attended high school.  Preference shall be given to applicants with a "C" average who may not qualify for financial assistance based upon scholastic merit.  This scholarship is for one academic year.  Prior recipients may apply.

Ora Broyles Wikle.  Preference given to full-time students who reside in Madison County, Alabama, who demonstrate financial need. This scholarship is for one academic year only and is renewable with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

David Brian Williams.  Awarded to deserving students with preference to active members of Highland Baptist Church, Florence, Alabama. Prior recipients may reapply.

John T Willis.  Open to all students.  Awarded on the basis of grade level classification and cumulative UNA GPA. Priority is given to upper classmen.  Selected by the University Scholarship Committee.
