Where are they now?

We've heard from some of our graduates! Here are just a few of the updates . . .

Tammy Samen: "I graduated from UNA in 2007 with a degree in Spanish and ESL. I am currently teaching ESL in Anniston City Schools."

Jessica McCarley: " I am teaching ESL at Florence City Schools, and am currently translating a children's book into Spanish."

Mallory Howe: " I am going back to Spain!! I am going to teach English at a school in Alhaurin de la Torre-outside of Malaga. I am sooo excited! I can't wait to get over there!!"

Kara Lindley Herron: " I am currently teaching Spanish at Hazlewood and R.A. Hubbard schools in Lawrence County. I am also teaching Distance Learning to another school in our system and am working on teaching out of the system starting next year. I absolutely LOVE my job - it's more like going to have fun everyday than going to work!"

Tony Weaver: "Hi! I spent 2 years in Tanzania as a Peace Corps Volunteer where I learned and used Swahili quite fluently (unfortunately not learned at UNA...but I like to think the foundation was laid). I am now in NYC in grad school for my master's in Social Work. I live in a neighborhood where everyone thinks I'm dominican and the..."

Sara McCutcheon: "I am currently teaching Spanish at Cullman High School! I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!"

Brian Beall completed the IMBA program at the University of Memphis and has been hired as a Media Analyst by a contract group (Omnitech Solutions) that works with the Pentagon supporting the Chiefs of Staff in their news/outreach office.

Sarah Carpenter is a PhD student in Folklore at the University of Oregon.

Valerie Jones will be attending the University of Alabama for Higher Education Administration in the fall and will be a Graduate Assistant for Graduate Student Services.

Emily Creekmore is a Spanish teacher at Rogers High School in Greenhill, Alabama.

Emily West is a teacher of French at Decatur High School, Decatur, Alabama.

Dustin Williams is completing a Master's Degree in Spanish at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. He currently lives in JaƩn, Spain, where he has spent the last year.

Rebekkah Argo will begin ESL classes here at UNA in the fall of 2010.
