University Honors Program
Benefits of the UNA Honors Program
Honors students at UNA have access to small classes with professors specially chosen for their skill in teaching and their passion for their discipline.
Honors students are eligible for early registration before classes fill up.
All Honors students receive scholarships directly from the Program. These scholarships are “stackable” in that they are added to other awards you may receive from UNA and elsewhere. Students in the first two years of the Program receive no less than $250 a semester while students in the third and fourth year receive no less than $500 a semester. Frequently, these awards are larger as funds are available, and we anticipate that these scholarship levels will increase in years to come.
All Honors students have access to the Honors Center in Lafayette Hall whether they live on or off campus. Amenities include study rooms, computer labs, meeting areas, lounge, and kitchen.
Honors students enjoy special programming on weekly basis - Movie Night, speakers, and short trips in the region as well as major trips during their first and second years in the program.
Students who complete the Honors Program graduate with the 'University Honors' designation.
Honors students have the benefit of one on one career mentoring from the Honors Director and other members of Honors Advisory Committee which includes faculty from Business, Nursing, Education, and the Arts & Sciences.
