Apartment application


Application Process:


  1. Download an Application.

  2. Please fill out documents completely. Uncompleted applications cannot be processed.

  3. Be sure to include the $200 deposit.

  4. Mail application and application deposit to:
    • Department of Housing
    • UNA Box 5037
    • University of North Alabama
    • Florence, AL 35632-0001

Apartment Costs:


  • Each apartment applicant must pay a security deposit along with a completed application to be placed on the waiting list. Deposit is refundable with written notice to be removed from waiting list.
  • First month's rent and cable due at lease signing, then on or before the first of each month. Payable at the cashier's window.
  • Cable must be through UNA's agreement with Comcast Cable. Digital and premium services are extra and payable directly to Comcast.
  • Deposit of $150 at Florence Utilities Department plus electric service hookup fee of $30. Monthly utilities range from $60-$120, depending on usage.
  • Deposit to initiate telephone service with BellSouth or other local access. Payable to the telephone service company.

Special Circumstances:

  • Married Couples: At least one person must be enrolled at UNA as a full-time student. Copy of marriage certificate is required.
  • Brother/Sister: Each must be enrolled at UNA as a full-time student. Copy of each birth certificate is required.
  • Single Parent: Must be enrolled at UNA as a full-time student. Copy of birth certificate for each child is required.

Availability:

  • Apartments are leased upon availability and priority date of application and deposit. Our office will notify the applicant when an apartment is available for the requested semester.

Lease:

  • The lease begins on date of signing and terminates on May 31. Renewals for less than a year are negotiable.
  • The lease requires the signature of each tenant. Parent/guardian signature required on lease if tenant is not 18 or older. Also parent/guardian signature required for utilities if tenant is not 19 or older.
