A.    PhotoStory

Combine images, narration and music to create teacher presentations, student projects, or student reports.

B.    MovieMaker

Edit raw video then add narration and effects to create teacher presentations, student projects, or student reports.  Additionally, edit educational video to remove superfluous content.

C.    Prezi

Online, non-linear presentation tool that merges terms, images and video.  Great for teacher or student presentations.

D.    PhotoPeach

Online program that integrates images, captions and music to create online reports and presentations that are easily shared.

E.     VoiceThread

Online collaborative tool that lets teachers and students invite comments in the form of text, narration or even telephone.  Great way to involve outside collaborators.

F.     PowerPoint

Not just bullets but instruction on how to really make presentations pop!  Integrate images, music and video.

G.    Podcasting

Once you have a story, post it online for the world to see and hear.  Great for student recitals, teacher homework help, or an administrator's message.

H.    Digital Photography

All the above offerings involve images.  Learn how to make your images more interesting and effective components of your presentations and digital stories.

II.     Web 2.0 Tools

A.    Google Sites

Use as a teacher web page and combine Google calendar, Google Docs, Google blog, and other Google tools.  Can be used to communicate with students, parents and the community.

B.    Google Docs

Set up and share collaborative documents and spreadsheets.  Want information from your teachers or parents, just create a Google form and watch the data come pouring in.

C.    Moodle

Maybe you are ready to take your course online.  Moodle is a learning management system that includes not only web pages for assignments but also an integrated gradebook. 

D.    Wikis/Blogs

Web 2.0 technologies used by teachers and students to collaborate and communicate.  Also great for student electronic portfolios and for reflective components of any project.

Although we no longer have DiscoveryStreaming, APTPlus provides an excellent database of digital streaming video that is easy to navigate and full of high-quality resources.

Teacher lessons and integrated web resources provide teachers with a plethora of high-quality digital content to supplement their existing lessons.

C.    Alabama Virtual Library

Educational databases providing teachers and students with high-quality, reliable information for use in presentations and research papers.

D.    ALEX

Course of Study standards aligned to Thinkfinity lesson plans and resources.

V.     Intel ® Teach

A.    Essentials

Research-based curriculum that integrates the latest in Web 2.0 technologies.  A complete program designed to move the mature classroom teacher from teacher-directed to student-centered instruction.  Modular approach can be delivered in a variety of formats.

B.    Elements

Self-paced or facilitated online tutorial on the essentials of project-based learning.  Heavy emphasis on student support and formative assessment.  Great information for any teacher.

C.    Thinking Tools

Free online tools that promote higher-order thinking and 21st Century skills.  Teachers can set up and facilitate projects for their students and use the tools to engage students in higher-order thinking.  The three tools focus on ranking and prioritizing, cause-and-effect, and persuasive writing.
