Transfer


Undergraduate

  • Contact your International Student Advisor and submit this form if you are a transferring from another U.S. institution.
  • All new international freshmen transferring less than 24 credit hours are required to be enrolled in a three hour non-academic Bridge Class during their first semester.
  • Official High School Diploma or University Degree Sheet
  • Official Transcript
  • Official TOEFL/IELTS score or ESL certificate
  • Official Test Scores (SAT, ACT) (if student has taken it)
  • $100 Application Fee
  • Transfer-In Form
  • Official Bank Letter showing $18,000 US dollars
  • If a student is sponsored by someone other than his/her parents, the following two letters are required:
  • An official bank letter from the sponsor's bank showing sufficient fund that meets the sponsorship requirement.
  • A letter from student's sponsor stating that s/he is willing to sponsor the student with the student's complete name and date of birth on the letter.
  • If a transcript does not list the credit hours and grade for each course taken, an evaluation of the transcript is required by an approved international credentials evaluator such as WES and ECE.

Graduate Transfer

Only 6 credit hours of work can be transferred into Graduate Programs at UNA.

Minimum Undergraduate TOEFL/IELTS Requirements for Undergraduate Transfer Students:

  • PBT = 550
  • IBT = 61
  • CBT = 173
  • IELTS = 5.5

Minimum TOEFL/IELTS Requirements for Graduate Transfer Students:

  • PBT = 550
  • IBT = 61
  • CBT = 213
  • IELTS = 6.0

Minimum GMAT/GRE Requirements:

  • GMAT = 400-450 (MBA)
  • GRE = 800 (MBA)
  • MAT 388 or combined Verbal/Quantitative 800 (Arts and Sciences)

SAT Scores

UNA uses ACT or SAT scores for advising and registration purposes, but international students are not required to submit any of these tests for admissions. Students without official scores of ACT or SAT reported to UNA will be required to take UNA's Academic Placement Test before registering for any classes.


Application Fee

A non-refundable application fee of one hundred dollars ($100) is required of every international applicant. Include an international money order or U.S. check made payable to the University of North Alabama or fill out the payment with credit card section in the application form. No wire transfers or application fee waivers.


Affidavit of Support

An original letter in English on official bank stationery must be submitted from a bank or other financial institution in which the sponsor of the student has savings deposits, certificates of deposit, money market certificates or other types of accounts containing readily available funds. This letter must provide a specific amount of funds; a letter without any amount is not acceptable. The minimum amount required in this letter must be equal to $18,000. Letters must be signed and dated within one year of the time the student plans to enroll. Financial sponsors who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents must submit the I-134 Immigration form which can be printed from this website.
