Magellan Student Exchange 2010

  • The University of Monterrey in Monterrey, Mexico, will offer two summer programs:
  • "Spanish and Mexican Culture" - June 21-July 23-Program Fee: Approx. $1,650 (Budget an additional $200 for housing and $110 for meals)*
  • "Hospitality and Tourism" -June 28-July 23 -Program Fee: Approx. $1,360 (Budget an additional $350 for housing and $160 for meals)*

Programs include lectures, activities and excursions. The "Hospitality and Tourism" program includes an excursion to Cancun to attend a conference and site visits, while the "Spanish and Mexican Culture" program includes study at both UDEM and the Universidad Marista de Merida (in Yucatan).

* The program fee for the "Hospitality and Tourism" provides for conference and site visits, Cancun hotel fees, and roundtrip airfare from Monterrey to Cancun. The program fee for "Spanish and Mexican Culture" provides for site visits, room and board during the community service week, one-way airfare from Monterrey to Merida, and room and board in Merida. Accommodations will be provided for all participants including stays in student residence halls, hotel stays and stays with host families. Students are responsible for airfare to/from Mexico and personal expenses.

  • The ESC Rennes School of Business in Rennes, France, will offer the following summer 2010 program:

"Responsible Management" -June 21-July 3-Estimated Cost: $1,500*

This program is best suited to students in their senior year of study or graduate students. A minimum of two years of undergraduate study is required.The program will consist of case studies and personal study time, guest speakers, and company visits including Yves Rocher, Lafarge and Danone.Students will be dealing with issues such as business and the environment, stakeholder relationships, corporate responsibility, sustainability, and the paradigm shift in the social contract.

* The estimated cost includes accommodations and an estimate of the cost of meals -which are the student's responsibility. Students are also responsible for the cost of airfare and other personal expenses.
