- What is Live@Edu?
Live@Edu is a Microsoft partnership with Higher Education to provide powerful messaging, productivity, and collaboration tools to students.
Features of Live@Edu:
- 10 Gigabytes of email storage
- 25 Gigabytes of file storage
- The ability to share Calendars in the Live@edu environment as well as with Outlook
- The ability to synchronize contacts and calendars with your mobile phone
- Office Live Workspace supporting online document collaboration with others, even if they do not have Microsoft Office
- Video Chat and Instant messaging
- Permanent Email addresses/accounts accessible after graduation/retirement
- Where do I go to access my Live@Edu account?
You can access your Live@Edu account two different ways:
1. Login to the UNAPortal and click on the "EMAIL" icon
2. http://outlook.com/una.edu to log directly into Live@Edu using your UNAPortal username and password
- Must Outlook be setup on my PC to use Live@Edu?
No. But if you want to import an address book and/or calendars, then Outlook must be install on your PC to import into Live@Edu
- Can I use Outlook Express, Mozilla Thunderbird, etc to access my new email?
If you prefer using a mail client to access your email, calendar, and contacts, instead of UNAPortal or a web interface, then you need to be using Outlook or Entourage. Other clients such as Outlook Express, Thunderbird, etc. will not allow you to take advantage of all the new features. Again, we will be providing more information on how to set these up at a later time.
- Can I keep my Live@Edu account after leaving UNA?
Yes! Your Live account is yours permanently for all graduates/alumni and retirees. Non-graduates will lose their account after 18 months. Once no longer enrolled as a UNA student, you will get non-intrusive banner advertisements that are suppressed during term of enrollment.
- Someone told me they sent me an email but I haven’t received it, why?
Check your Junk E-mail folder
To mark email that is in the "Junk E-Mail" folder to not junk, do the following:
from Portal-Live@Edu
1. Right click on the email
2. Click on “Junk E-Mail”
3. Click “Mark as Not Junk”
4. Check box to always trust messages from this sender.
From Outlook:
1. Right click on the email
2. Click on “Junk”
3. Click “Not Junk”
4. Check box to always trust messages from this sender.
- How do I setup my Outlook for Live@Edu account
NOTE: Live@Edu only supports Outlook 2007 and Outlook 2010. Outlook 2003 and earlier version users need to upgrade to take full advantage of using Outlook with Live@Edu
- How do I setup my Entourage for Live@Edu account
NOTE: MAC users must download and install "Entourage Web Services Edition Update" before setting up Entourage

A user must have administrator rights to install this update. Contact computer services helpdesk@una.edu to install this update if you do not have these rights.

NOTE: Blackberry Phones can be setup for email but will not sync calendar, contacts or tasks

- How do I change my UNA Portal/Live@Edu Password?
If you want to change your password, do the following:
- Log onto the UNA Portal
- Click on "My Account" in upper left hand corner
- Key in current Password
- Key in new password
- Key in new password to confirm new password
- Click on Save Changes
Note: When setting a new password, you MUST follow the following PASSWORD REQUIREMENTS:
IMPORTANT: if you do not follow the password requirements, it may result in connectivity issues to your email account.
- The password LENGTH must be 8 or greater, but no more than 16
- The password MUST contain a LETTER
- The password MUST contain a NUMBER
- The password MUST contain at least one of these special characters:
- %7e (tilde operator)
- ! (exclamation point)
- ^ (caret)
- - (hypen)
- + (plus sign)
- ? (question mark)
- ] (right bracket)
- [ (left bracket)
- Any special characters not listed will not be accepted
- The password MUST NOT contain spaces or any of these special characters " ' : { } @ . * # $
- The password MUST NOT contain Non-English characters.
- The password MUST NOT contain the alias part of the e-mail address. For example, if the e-mail address is user@una.edu, the password can't contain user. This restriction isn't case-sensitive, so USER or User can't be used in the password for user@una.edu.

Sky Drive is 7 GB of web storage space free with the Live account, accessible once logged in. Files may be easily saved to and from Sky Drive using a web browser.
