I was born in France and raised in
various places across the United States and Europe as an Air Force
“brat.” Prior to teaching, I was a Social Worker, and then completed my
Master’s degree in education from the University of North Alabama 22
years ago. I spent the first 15 years teaching fifth grade, but have
found a new love – first grade at Kilby Laboratory School. I am very
blessed to have two wonderful sons, Jay and Josh. They are married to
absolutely precious young ladies, and I love them both as if they were
my own daughters. Jay and his wife, Sammi, do not have any children yet,
but they do have an adorable boxer, Josie that we all treat as a baby.
Josh and his wife, Anna, blessed our family with triplets, Ryan,
Nathan, and Adelyn January 30, 2013. Besides my precious
first graders, there is no other love that can compare to that I have
for these beautiful babies. I love spending time with
my family, friends, and dogs, reading, and traveling. My biggest
weakness - CHOCOLATE!!!
My passion is
teaching and making a difference in the lives of young people and our
community. I feel that it is both an honor and
privilege to teach at Kilby Laboratory School and to work
collaboratively with such phenomenal parents and faculty. In addition, I
am extremely proud to be a part of my alma mater, the outstanding
University of North Alabama, and to work cooperatively with the
university’s faculty and staff. I will always be
grateful for the opportunities and experiences that have been afforded
me during these wonderful years at Kilby Laboratory School, and I look
forward to the bright future that is ahead for all of us at the
University of North Alabama.
