Ms. Kathy Wallace

I was born and grew up in Fountain, a small town in eastern North Carolina. I worked in my dad’s grocery store and on the farm as a young girl. I have two brothers, still in North Carolina, and one sister in Bellingham, Washington. I attended East Carolina University and received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education in 1976. My first five years out of college, I taught fifth grade. After marriage, I lived in Greenville, North Carolina, Laramie, Wyoming, Auburn, Alabama, Laurel, Mississippi, Starkville, Mississippi, and Champaign, Illinois.

Since moving to Florence, Alabama in 1988, I have taught second and third grades at Kilby Laboratory School. At Kilby, being an affiliation with the University of North Alabama, I work with the UNA faculty, student observers, clinical experiences and student interns in my classroom. I enjoy teaching at Kilby and working with the university.

I have one son, Robert, who attended Kilby, Forest Hills, Bradshaw, Auburn, Temple, and Alabama. He is now the Branch Manager of RBC Bank in Meridianville, Alabama and lives in Madison. I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy doing yard work and playing with my dog, Lucky.
