Mrs. Diane Berry

In August of 2006, I began teaching fifth grade at Kilby. I started my teaching career in Decatur, Alabama after receiving my B. S. Degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Alabama in 1970. In 1975, I earned my M. A. Degree, also in Elementary Education, from the University of Alabama. From there, I went on to teach in Mountain Brook. Then, after spending about thirteen years as a full-time mother, I returned to education and worked as an aide/supply teacher in Albertville. My family moved to this area in 1989, and I resumed my teaching career in 1990 in Muscle Shoals. From 2001 to 2006, my husband and I lived in Georgia, and I worked as a teacher/progress manager for the Sylvan Learning Center in Carrollton.

My husband, Jim, and I have been married for thirty-eight years. He is a retired educator who works part-time as an intern supervisor and adjunct professor at UNA. I have a son, a daughter, and one grandson. My hobbies include singing in the choir and playing hand bells at my church. I love to read (when I have the time). In addition, my husband and I spend a lot time traveling to and from Tuscaloosa for UA football! What I enjoy most of all, though, is being my grandson’s “Grandma DeDe.”
