I was born in Montgomery, AL. and
spent most of my childhood days there, but we also lived in Bay Minette
and Tuscaloosa. I received my undergraduate degree in Early Childhood
Education from the University of Alabama (Roll Tide). I later earned my
Masters in Early Childhood Education from the University of Mississippi
(Go Rebels). I have been married for 36 years to my high school
sweetheart, Paul, who was a career Army officer. I had the privilege of
following him all over the world for 23 years, until he retired and we
made Florence our permanent home. We have two wonderful children,
Elizabeth and Will. Elizabeth is a journalist, and also
graduated from the University of Alabama. Will graduated from Belmont
University in Nashville, and is a professional writer. We
have an adorable miniature schnauzer, Gracie, and three granddogs.
I taught first grade at Kilby for seven years and this is my seventh
year as the ARI Reading Coach. I love to spend time with my family,
travel, cook and read.
