SCHEDULING LIBRARY INSTRUCTION

Faculty/Staff

Library instruction sessions can be scheduled for any class offered at UNA. Topics that can be covered include but are not limited to the following: UNACAT (the libraries' online catalog), specific databases, e-mail, the Internet, reference sources in a specific discipline, and Internet resources in a specific discipline. The faculty of Collier Library can generally accommodate any requests for additional topics if given sufficient preparation time. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a library instruction session, please contact Leigh Thompson, Instructional Services Librarian, at extension 4466 or e-mail dlthompson@una.edu or fill out the online request form.

Students

The Research Consultation service is designed to allow students to consult one-on-one or in small groups with a librarian.  This service provides in-depth assistance in library research including identifying and locating the most useful sources of information for papers, projects, or assignments, effective web search strategies, and evaluating information sources.

Community Groups

Community groups may request library tours and/or library instruction. These requests will be honored whenever possible. However, scheduling preference will be given to UNA faculty, staff, and students. To inquire about library instruction for a community or school group, call the Instructional Services Librarian at 765-4466 or e-mail dlthompson@una.edu.
