The Collier Library Archives contains several discrete collections, each with its own origin and history. Materials donated by the Tennessee Valley Historical Society as well, as materials amassed by the now defunct Wesleyan Archives, comprise the Wesleyan Collection. The Florence Collection has developed as a result of increased student interest in Florence history. Congressman Flippo began donating his papers to the University in 1981, thus creating the Flippo Collection. Other collections include the Photograph Collection, Churches Collection, Map Collection, University Collection, and the Academic Senate Minutes Collection.
