
American Chemical Society – The Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society endeavor to promote understanding of chemistry and related sciences. The UNA chapter of the ACS is very involved in the community. The Members of the organization participate in National Chemistry Week activities at Regency Square Mall, and the Alabama Regional Science Olympiad competition.
American Mock Trials Association– The purpose of the American Mock Trials Association is three-fold: (1) To provide through its organization a means to experience and understand courtroom advocacy and the rigors of legal training. (2) To provide the student the means for getting practical career information through guest speakers, competitions before the public, and organizational interaction. (3) To represent the University according to the highest standards of personal conduct and achievement in competitions with other schools and before the legal community.
American Society for Interior Design – ASID contributes to the community by assisting organizations such as the Tennessee Valley Art Center to fulfill their design needs. The organization also encourages excellence in the practice of interior design and assists members to serve the public professionally by contribution to an endowed departmental scholarship.
Art Student Association – Concentrating on the development of growth and stimulations of higher ideas and creativity, the Art Student Association promotes all fields of visual art on campus. The expression of student interest is the aim of Art Student Association activities. The ASA sponsors gallery talks by artists who have exhibits in the university art gallery. Membership is open to all students enrolled at UNA.
Association for Computer Machinery – The University of North Alabama student Chapter of the Association for Computer Machinery is organized and will be operated exclusively for educational and scientific purposes and in furtherance thereof; to promote an increased knowledge of the science, design, development, construction, languages, and applications of modern computing machinery, to promote a greater interest in computing machinery and its applications, and to provide a means of communication between persons having interest in computing machinery. Membership in this chapter shall be open to all UNA students.
Beta Beta Beta – Tri Beta functions
as an honorary and professional society for students of the
biological sciences. Its activities are designed to stimulate
interest, scholarly attainment and investigations in the biological
sciences, and to promote the dissemination of information
and new interest among students of the life sciences.
Criminal Justice Club - The purpose of this club is
to advance learning of the criminal justice system beyond
the classroom and provide service to the University and
local community.
English Club – The purpose of the
English Club is to promote the mastery of written expression,
encourage worthwhile reading and enhance a spirit of fellowship
among men and women interested in literature and writing.
All UNA students with a 2.0 GPA are encouraged to attend meetings.

Fashion Forum – Educational speakers who help students’ outlook are the focus of Fashion Forum. The organization is centered around fashion merchandising and interior design. Fashion Forum also offers a scholarship fund in order to supply financial assistance to students who are in need. Participation in various community service projects is encouraged by the group.
French Club – The purpose of the French
Club is to promote fellowship among French-speaking students
at UNA and conduct activities on campus to raise awareness
about the French language and culture. Membership is open
to all students.
Gamma Theta Upsilon (Geography) - The promotion of
education and knowledge of geographical surroundings is the
purpose of Gamma Theta Upsilon. In order to be initiated,
students must have at least a B average and have completed a
minimum of three courses in geography. Students must rank
in the upper 35 percent of their class and have completed at
least three semesters of classes.
Geography Club – The Geography Club promotes the discipline of geography through Geographic Awareness Week, field trips, cookouts, and community activities. Membership is open to all students.
History Club – The History Club is devoted to the idea that students can have fun while learning about their own place in history. Planned activities include at least one on-campus event, one social and one field trip each semester. No matter your major or future vocation, you are invited to participate in "doing history."
Human Environmental Sciences Club – The Human Environmental Sciences Club strives to improve the quality of individual and family life through education, cooperative programs, and public information. Human Environmental Sciences integrates knowledge from the basic disciplines to solve everyday problems of families. Majors in Human Environmental Sciences are invited to become members of the club. The club develops leadership among its members. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers, and members are encouraged to attend state and national HES conferences.
Industrial Hygiene Student Association – The purpose of the University of North Alabama Industrial Hygiene Student Association is to promote the advancement of the industrial hygiene profession and to foster the professional well-being and development of its members within its campus and community. Monthly meetings feature guest speakers, and members are encouraged to attend local and national AIHA conferences.

Epsilon Rho – (Broadcasting Society) Alpha
Epsilon Rho exists to encourage and reward scholarship and
accomplishment among broadcasting students and high–level
accomplishments in the arts and science of broadcasting by
both student and industry professionals; to promote the advancement
of broadcast education; to establish meaningful communication
between students and professional broadcasters; to foster
integrity in the used of the powerful instruments of radio,
television, and film.
Kappa Pi – Kappa Pi is an International
Art Fraternity based on academic achievement and artistic
excellence. Founded in 1911 at the University of kentucky,
Kappa Pi recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding academic
achievement and also possess excellent studio art skills.
As an organization, Kappa Pi supports the arts within schools
and the community and seeks to promote a deeper appreciation
of the arts among the public. Dr. Suzanne Zurinsky is the
advisor.
Lambda Pi Eta - The purposes of Lambda Pi Eta is: to
recognize, foster and reward outstanding scholastic
achievement in communication studies; to stimulate interest
in the field of communication; to promote and encourage
professional development among communication majors; to
provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange ideas in the
field of communication; to establish and maintain close
relationships and mutual understandings between
communication studies faculty and students; and to explore
options for graduate education in communication studies.
Phi Sigma Iota - This organization is a honor society

Psi Chi - The purpose of this organization is to
encourage, stimulate, and maintain excellence in scholarship
of the individual members in all fields, particularly in
psychology; and to advance the science of psychology.
Psychology Club – Psychology Club
encourages the growth and stimulation of higher ideas in the
pursuit of theoretical and empirical knowledge in the area
of psychology, and works to increase student awareness of
the issues and concerns encountered in the field of psychology,
and to provide an outlet for students to freely express their
own ideas and interests. The club also offers information
in matters pertaining to psychology to other campus organizations.

Public Relations Council of Alabama –
PRCA is a statewide professional organization that serves
as a forum for interchange of ideas, workshops, seminars,
etc. for Alabama's public relations professionals. As members
of UNA's PRCA, students become members of the North Alabama
Chapter of PRCA, and are invited to participate in the workshops
and seminars. Membership is open to all interested students,
but dues are required.

Sigma Alpha Iota - The mission of Sigma Alpha Iota
International Music Fraternity is to encourage, nurture, and
support the art of music.
Sigma Tau Delta – Sigma Tau Delta
is an honor society that inducts English majors and minors,
associates members, who may have any major, and faculty associates.
Students must have a 3.2 grade point average in their English
classes in order to be inducted.

Sociology Club – The goals of the
club is to study and discuss current issues related to the
fields of sociology and criminal justice. A variety of activities
are organized each semester, such as field trips and cookouts.
Society of Physics Students - The purpose of
the chapter is to advance and diffuse the knowledge of
physics, encourage physics throughout the community, and the
introduction of students to the professional community.
Social Work Organization – The Social Work Organization, commonly referred to as S.W.O., was organized by the student in 1975. S.W.O. engages in fund-raising projects, organizes monthly department newsletter, holds membership recruitment drives, and aides community outreach programs working with locals news media and co-sponsoring community workshops and projects. Business meetings and programs are open to all Social Work majors who wish to attend. The participation is solicited at all academic levels of the major. Program meetings are open to all University students and the community. Through S.W.O., the students plan and initiate an annual "Social Work Day" coinciding with National Social Work Month in March and raise funds for scholarships.
