Primarily women student housing is available in Rice Hall while primarily men live in Rivers Hall; both halls encompass upper classification students, as well. Extended housing and 18-hour quiet floor are options for both Rice and Rivers Halls.

LaGrange is presently the extended housing for women & men, and will provide co-ed housing (by floor, based on demand) for fall 2004. The transfer and upper class student are the focus for this residential community. LaGrange also has a computer lab and is right next door to the new student recreational center and parking deck.

Lafayette Leadership Hall will remain open for occupancy for the 2004-2005 academic year. This coeducational facility will house women leaders on one floor and men on the other. Applications for fall 2004 are now available and due by April 9, 2004 (Deadline Extended). Click here to download.

Please feel free to schedule a tour of the residence halls and view our rooms, lobbies, computer labs, and other extras available to residential students. Campus tours that include the residence halls can be arranged through the Admissions Office at (256) 765-4608 during periods when classes are in session. Or, call our office directly during other time periods at (256) 765-4124 when the University is open.

UNA also offers 96 unfurnished apartment units for family or single student rental. Eighty units are on-campus and 16 are less than one mile from campus, allowing for a quick commute. Tours and vacancy information are available by calling our office at (256) 765-4124.

Coming Fall 2004 - A New Tradition in Student Housing

Four new residence halls are under construction now, with plans for opening this fall, to house 332 students. These new halls will offer our unique mini-cluster community design, centered around four residents in three bedrooms with their own living area and full bathroom.

Housing & Residence Life Organizations

F.O.R.E. (Freshmen Orientation and Resource Educators) Advisors are upperclass students who live in the residence halls and volunteer their time to help new residential students with their transition to college life and residential living. F.O.R.E. Advisors plan welcome week activities, are available to advise students, provide academic resources and programs, and serve as a resource and contact for new residential students. Contact Kevin Jacques for more information about becoming a F.O.R.E. Advisor.

NATIONAL RESIDENCE HALL HONORARY
The purpose of this organization shall be to provide recognition for those individuals living in the residence halls who have provided important leadership in the advancement of the residence hall community, and to promote activities that encourage leadership qualities in residents. Membershp is limited to sophomore classification or higher with other qualifications. For more information please contact Erin Clegg at 765-5179.

RESIDENT ASSISTANTS
Resident Assistants are student leaders who reside on and oversee a floor within the Residence Halls on campus. They are responsible for the day-to-day management of the floor, serve as a campus resource, community builder, friend, and policy enforcer. They are selected for the Scholarship Position during the fall and also the spring. Further information can be obtained by calling the Associate Director of Residence Life at 765-5558.

RHA
The Residence Hall Association serves as the governing body for all residential students. RHA is the connecting link between residential students and the Residence Life Staff; it recommends housing policies, and sets standards and procedures for implementing policies in the halls. RHA also plans major programs and activities for the halls such as dances, holiday parties, educational speakers, etc. All residents are automatically members of RHA, so take advantage of this great opportunity for developing leadership, making friends, and making a real difference in your living environment! The Officers and Committee Chairs comprise the Executive Council, and are elected by the residents. Weekly meetings are scheduled and are open to all residence hall students.
