The UNA Habitat for Humanity chapter builds the first zero-energy solar-powered Habitat home in Alabama. Built with environmentally friendly materials, including all Energy Star appliances, the home was designed to conserve energy and leave as small of a carbon footprint as possible. But that’s not all. Because it is serviced by Sheffield Utilities, the home’s owners have actually been able to sell unused energy back to their utilities provider.
