I started thinking about graduate school my junior year of college. I took the GRE the summer before I started my senior year and after getting my results I immediately applied for graduate programs at both The University of Alabama and the University of North Alabama. I wasn't sure what exactly I wanted to do but I knew that I wasn't ready to get out of school right away and I had motivation to continue my education.
The thought of leaving UNA to attend another school was definitely a daunting one. I had spent the last 4 years at UNA and couldn't have asked for a better college experience. I was so familiar with UNA and the faculty and staff that it made the choice very simple. I was also intrigued because UNA offered a MBA concentration in Health Care Management which I think is something unique and will benefit my career in the long run.
Overall, I have been very pleased with the MBA program here at UNA. The professors really care about the students individually. Even though the expectations for each class are very high and the coursework stresses me out at times, their intentions are for the student's best interest. One common goal that I have noticed throughout the MBA program is that the professors constantly remind us that in order to be a successful MBA graduate, there are several things that are required and this degree will not be handed to us on a silver platter.
Background/Biographical Information:
I graduated from The University of North Alabama in May 2011 with a Bachelor in Business Administration and a concentration in Human Resource Management. I am an Army brat but consider myself to be from Huntsville, Alabama because that is where I graduated high school. My MBA concentration is in Health Care Management. The first year of my MBA I pursed a combination of the traditional and online delivery method. I am enrolled full time and am on a year and a half MBA program. Starting this summer, I will be finishing my MBA completely online because I am moving to New Jersey to continue working for the government.
