Jane Wilson, Assistant Professor, received her B.A degree from Judson College, Marion, Alabama and a M.S. Degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Other graduate studies have been in the M.B.A. program. Work experiences include visual merchandising, retail buying, sales management, store management in Human Resources and Store Operations with merchandising over site. This experience brings real world experience to enhance lectures and other learning activities. Students enjoy the benefits of business relationships in the community for internship and career opportunities.

Students have the opportunity to conduct retailing experiments in Florence stores, conduct an entire sales project and often take study tours. Such tours have included trips to Paris, London, New York, Atlanta, and to various textile facilities throughout the state. Each spring, students participate in a class that actually constructs windows in businesses in the downtown area. Such experiences prepare students should they be interested in the retail side of the fashion business.
