The music business program at the University of North Alabama was established in the fall of 1975 and is one of the oldest music industry degrees in the United States. UNA has an enviable track record of producing alumni who have risen to the top of their fields as leading publishers, record producers, hit songwriters, musicians, performers, engineers and music industry executives.
The Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science Degrees in Music Business at the University of North Alabama are conceived within the context of a liberal arts program, so that its graduates may have both breadth and professional qualifications with the diversity of skills needed to sustain a long-term career. The program seeks to prepare students for positions in all areas of the multi-billion dollar music and entertainment industries. The goals of the degree program are primarily the development of musicianship and artistic sensibilities and secondarily the acquisition of business and technical skills related to work within the music industry.
