Course: POLICE TRAFFIC RADAR (OPERATOR COURSE)

The North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center is changing our name. We will soon be known as the University of North Alabama Public Safety Institute. We will be serving all emergency service personnel and management.

This is an 8 hour (1) day course

Time: 8am-4pm

Course Description:
This course is designed to train officers in RADAR Speed Measurement” This course is taught using National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards.

Topics include:
Speed Offenses and Speed Enforcement
Basic Principles of RADAR Speed Measurement
Principles of Moving RADAR
Factors Affecting All RADAR Operation
Legal and Operational Considerations
Operation of Specific RADAR Devices - Classroom Segment
Practical Exercises
Moot Court
Written Examination

Students will need to bring the following:

Radar Unit from Dept. if possible
Copy of Dept. Rules and Regulations on RADAR, if possible
Notebook paper
Two Pens
Highlighter
