1911 for the Law Enforcement Officer Level 1 Course

 

   The North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center will host an 8 hour 1911 for the Law Enforcement Officer Level 1 Course.  The course will be held June 24,  2009 with class beginning at 8:00 AM.  This course has been approved for 8 hours of CEU Credit. 

 

   The cost of this course is $50.00.  Refreshments will be served. 

 

   Registration can be made online at www.una.edu/naletc.  Class registration is limited to 10 participants.     A minimum of 5 participants is needed to hold this course. 

 

 ****A One Week Cancellation notice must be given for the above class, or the participant and/or department will be chargd the full amount****.

 

1911 for the Law Enforcement Officer

 

 

   In the age of Semi-auto pistols, the 1911 is often overlooked as a Law Enforcement Tool.  However, Law Enforcement Officers utilize 1911s as a back-up or concealed carry option.  Several, Law Enforcement Agencies are returning to the 1911 Platform. 

 

    Participants can utilize Full-Size or Back-up type 1911s during this course. 

 

***This is a physically demanding course****

 

This course will cover the following:

Modern 1911s

History of the 1911

Strong and Support Hand usage of the 1911

Various modifications to the 1911 Platform

Awkward position firing with the 1911

  

Each participant will need:

 

-Comfortable clothing (You will get dirty)

-Shoes or boots with ankle support

-Belt with strong and support side holsters.  (Nylon holsters can be utilized. 

-Quality 1911 of least .9mm Caliber.  (No heavily modified 1911s, i.e.: Safety Devices deactivated).***

-At least two magazines.

-250 rounds of practice ammunition

-Eye and ear protection

-Eye Protection

-Body Armor  (***Mandatory****) 

-Knee pads/ elbow pads  (optional)

-Hydration System (Camelback or canteens)  (Optional)

-Note taking material
