Basic Rappel Certification for the Law Enforcement Officer

 

   The North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center will host a 16 hour Basic Rappel Certification for the Law Enforcement Officer Course.  The course will be held August 19-20, 2009,  with class beginning at 8:00 AM.  This course has been approved for 16 hours of CEU Credit. 

 

   The cost of this course is $150.00.  Refreshments will be served. 

 

   Registration can be made online at www.una.edu/naletc.  Class registration is limited to 10 participants.     A minimum of 5 participants is needed to hold this course. 

 

 ****A One Week Cancellation notice must be given for the above class, or the participant and/or department will be chargd the full amount****.

 

Basic Rappel Course

 

This two day course covers 16 hours of classroom and field operations that is designed to introduce individuals to personal safety, equipment care and usage, basic knot tying,  simple anchoring processes and application for rappel operations, rappel techniques using different devices (figure-8, racks, breaks,etc), and belay procedures.

 

What you need to bring

 

Comfortable clothing – BDU style

Harness Level 2 (if you have one)

Rappel Helmet (if you have one)

Rappel Gloves (Double-layered palms)

Boots

Hydration unit/Camelbak

Sunscreen

Sunglasses

 

If you do not have a helmet or harness, one will be provided.
