Starting January 1, 2009, the North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center, a Division of the University of North Alabama, in conjunction with Forensic Pieces, is pleased to announce the Certificate in Crime Scene Investigation Program. 

 

To successfully complete this program, participants must take the following courses within a 2 Year period.  The courses may be taken in any order (*except Basic and Advanced Crime Scene Investigation, which must be taken in order).  These courses are:

1. Rape Investigation (24 hours)

2. Death Investigation (24 hours)

3. Basic Crime Scene Investigation (40 hours)

4. Advanced Crime Scene Investigation (24 hours)

5. Shooting Reconstruction (40 hours)

6. Basic Latent Prints (24 hours)

7. Crime Scene Reconstruction (40 hours)

8. Buried Body & Surface Skeleton Investigations (24 hours)

9. Basic Digital Photography (40 hours)

10. Evidence Technician (40 hours)

11. Blood Detection at the Crime Scene (24 hours)

TOTAL...............................................360 hours

 

After the participant has completed this Program, they will be presented with a Certificate in Crime Scene Investigation Plaque from the North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center, the University of North Alabama and Forensic Pieces. 

 

The courses are given on-site at the North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center.  Each course has been approved for CEUs with the Alabama Police Officers Training and Standards Commission.
