Police Traffic Radar Instructor Course  (09-2)

 

  The North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center will host a 40 hour Police Traffic Radar Instructor Course on Sept 28- Oct 2, 2009. 

 

Class will begin at 8:00 AM.  Cost of the Course is $250.00 per participant.  Tuition for the course will include refreshments, hand-outs, manuals, CDs.

Course Description:

   This course is designed to train officers to teach the “Basic Training Program in RADAR Speed Measurement” to other members of their department. This course is taught using National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards.

 

Topics include:

Speed Offenses and Speed Enforcement

Basic Principles of RADAR Speed Measurement

Principles of Moving RADAR

Factors Affecting All RADAR Operation

Legal and Operational Considerations

Operation of Specific RADAR Devices - Classroom Segment

Practical Exercises

Classroom Presentations

Moot Court

Written Examination

 

Students will need to bring the following:

 

Radar Unit from Dept. if possible

Copy of Dept. Rules and Regulations on RADAR, if possible

Notebook paper

Two Pens

Highlighter

Jump Drive or Blank CDs for Classroom presentations
