Police Traffic Radar Instructor Course
(09-2)
The
Class will begin at 8:00 AM. Cost of the Course is $250.00 per
participant. Tuition for the course will include refreshments,
hand-outs, manuals, CDs.
Class size is limited to 20 participants. Registration can be
made online at
www.una.edu/naletc.

Cancellation notice must be given for the above class, or the
participant and/or department will be charged the full amount****.
Course Description: This course is designed to train officers to teach the “Basic Training Program in RADAR Speed Measurement” to other members of their department. This course is taught using National Highway Traffic Safety Administration standards.
Topics include:
Speed Offenses and Speed Enforcement
Basic Principles of RADAR Speed Measurement
Principles of Moving RADAR
Factors Affecting All RADAR Operation
Legal and Operational Considerations
Operation of Specific RADAR Devices - Classroom Segment
Practical Exercises
Classroom Presentations
Moot Court
Written Examination
Students will need to bring the following:
Radar Unit from Dept. if possible
Copy of Dept. Rules and Regulations on RADAR, if possible |
Notebook paper
Two Pens
Highlighter
Jump Drive or Blank CDs for Classroom presentations
