Glock Instructor Workshop

 

 The North Alabama Law Enforcement Training Center will host a Glock Instructor Workshop Course on October 6-8, 2009.  Class will begin at 8:00 am. The Instructor Course has been approved for 24 hours of CEUs.

 

 

Glock Instructor:

     Instructor Course is 24 hours.  Class size is limited to 12 participants.  Each participant of the Instructor Course will need to bring:

 

Glock Handgun

1,000 rounds of ammunition

Duty gear including magazine pouch, holster, flashlight, and belt

Eye and ear protection

Rain Gear

Baseball type hat

 

Glock offers a discounted price if the Glock Armorer Course and the Instructor Workshop is taken together.

  • Introduction and Administrative
  • Overview of GLOCK pistol in context of auto pistol design: 
         GLOCK pistols as compared to revolvers and other auto pistol types
  • Firearm safety:
         General safety rules
         Range safety procedures
  • Procedures for loading and unloading the GLOCK pistols
  • Critical incident characteristics and the body stress reaction
         Physical and psychological results of stress and the effect on training
         and shooting methods
  • Fundamentals of modern firearms training
  • Review of marksmanship fundamentals: 
         Weaver stance vs Isosceles
         The ready or "scan" position
         Interview stance
         Flash sight picture
         Trigger reset
  • Practical speed and combat accuracy
  • Teaching the draw: 
         Draw and fire practice
  • Reloading methods: 
         Slide closed and slide locked open
         Magazine - save reload
  • Single and multiple-shot firing exercises at paper at ranges from contact
    distance to twenty-five yards
  • Stoppage clearance drills
  • Multiple target technique and drills

  • Trigger reset review
  • Design of lesson plans and qualification course:
         Conventional courses of fire vs modern training theory
         Evaluation of tactical exercises for safety and educational value
  • Reaction time demonstrations
  • Live fire exercises:
         Multiple shots at increased ranges (25 yards)
  • Use of Cover:
         The "Roll Out"
         Various kneeling positions
         Advantages
  • Ultra close range firing techniques:
         Shove and shoot
         Firing while moving
  • Low light techniques
    Low light firing exercises (Range conditions permitting)
