- When do I apply for Nursing?
- After all prerequisites are completed or during the last semester prerequisites will be completed.
- When do you admit students into Nursing?
- Fall and spring. Students who apply to nursing school in the fall will be enrolled in nursing classes the following spring semester.
- Students who apply to nursing school in the spring will be enrolled in nursing classes the following fall semester.
- For students interested in the Accelerated (15 month only for students with a first degree) BSN option, admissions only occur in the spring for start in the summer.
- How do I apply to your Traditional BSN nursing program?
- Applications are available on the College of Nursing and Allied Health website http://www.una.edu/nursing/ , with a complete explanation of application process.
- Fall: applications are available September 1 and must be submitted by October 1.
- Spring: applications are available February 1 and must be submitted by March 1
- Accelerated: applications are available January 10 - 31st.

- What prerequisites are required for your Nursing Program?
The following should be used as a general guide and students seeking admission are advised to speak with the UNA College of Nursing and Allied Health advisor for more inclusive and individual transcript information.
- Written Composition I and II; Literature of the World I and II; Introductory Biology with lab; Introductory Chemistry with Lab; Nutrition; General Psychology; United States History to 1877 and United States History since 1877 or Survey of Western Civilization to 1500 and Survey of Western Civilization since 1500; 3 hours of selected Fine Arts such as Art Appreciation, Music Appreciation, Religion; 6 hours of other electives.
- Fundamentals of Speech; Finite Mathematics or Pre-Calculus Algebra; Human Anatomy and Physiology with lab I and II; Microbiology; Human Growth and Development; Elementary Statistics; Introduction to Nursing NU200 or NU200R (this class must be taken at UNA and is available in face to face and online mode); Computations for Health Care Personnel NU202 or NU202R.
- What is the GPA requirement to apply for your nursing program?
- Students must have a minimum of a 2.5 overall GPA. Students must have at least a C in all classes to be used as a prerequisite. We will not accept any prerequisite classes that students have not made a C or higher in.
