FLORENCE, Ala. — The University of North Alabama Office of Continuing Studies and Outreach announces registration for human resources certification training courses through the Society of Human Resource Management Learning System. The courses will be offered both in the classroom and online. Both courses begin Feb. 4 and conclude May 2. The classroom course will meet from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Feb. 5 and 19, March 4 and 18 and April 1 and 15.
The courses are specifically designed for individuals seeking certification as a professional in human resources (PHR) or a senior professional in human resources (SPHR). Whether an experienced manager new to the human resources field or a mid-level manager pursuing a career change or promotion, these courses can provide valuable credentials that will set the participants apart from other human resources professionals and open the door to new career opportunities.
The cost of the classroom course is $1,299 per person, or $1,249 for SHRM members. This includes books and light refreshments. The online course is $1,099, or $1,049 for SHRM members, and includes books. Students can also earn 3.5 continuing education units (CEUs) for completing the course. Tuition reimbursement programs may cover the investment.
The course provides an up-to-date overview of key human resource management concepts and trends and is based on the new 2008 Human Resource Certification Institute body of knowledge. It features printed workbooks, more than 1,600 test questions, an online resource center and an interactive case study designed for SPHR candidates.
