FLORENCE, Ala. — “Stoney Creek, Alabama,” the second novel by UNA’s Sandra Poole and her daughter, Jennifer Youngblood, has hit the top 10 on the Books-A-Million bestsellers list. The book was released on Amazon.com Nov. 30, 2007.
Poole is an assistant to the vice president for business and financial affairs at UNA.
“Stoney Creek, Alabama,” a murder mystery, is set in a town where Poole had served as a human resource manager for a hardwood sawmill in the early 1980s.
The main character, Sydney Lassiter, returns to her hometown of Stoney Creek, Ala., after years of being away because of a family tragedy, and she begins asking questions about her father’s death.
Poole and Youngblood are currently working on their third novel, “Trailers, Pines and Power Lines,” which is being written in pieces from a broad plot developed by Poole.
Their first book, “Livin’ in High Cotton,” released in 2004, is a coming-of-age story of a young girl in Alabama.
