FLORENCE, Ala.— The University of North Alabama National Alumni Association (NAA) will be sponsoring the 10th annual UNA Fine Arts Festival April 29 through May 4 to raise money for the Department of Music’s Choral Program.
Over the last ten years, the festival has raised over $50,000 for the UNA Choral, Theatre, Band, Visual Arts, Literary Arts and Commercial Music Departments.
The Florence Camerata will kick off the events with a concert April 29 at 7:30 p.m. The concert is entitled “How Sweet the Sound,” and will include both traditional and new spiritual songs, reminiscent of the area’s musical history. The performance will take place at the Church of the Good Shepherd at the corner of Cloyd Boulevard and Darby Drive in Florence. Tickets are $10 for adults and $7 for students, and may be purchased at the door.
UNA alumna Eleanor McClellan will be performing at UNA Sings, a VIP-served dinner and silent auction on May 1 at 6 p.m. in the Guillot University Performance Center. Tickets are $25. Sponsor tables are also available for parties of eight at the silver and gold levels for $250 and $300, respectively.
Sponsor tables include first or second row seating at the concert, as well as program acknowledgement. Banquet attendees are asked to R.S.V.P. by April 28. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students, and may be purchased at the door.
The weekend will conclude May 4 with a spring concert by the Shoals Symphony at UNA. The afternoon performance will take place in Norton Auditorium at 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students.
All proceeds from the 2008 Fine Arts Festival will be used to recruit students to the choral music program at UNA.
