UNA ROTC TO HOLD 5K RACE AND 1-MILE FUN RUN APRIL 19

FLORENCE, Ala.— The cadets of the University of North Alabama Army ROTC invite the community to participate in a 5K Race and 1-mile walk/run on April 19. The event is being held in conjunction with the inaugural ROTC Challenge Week being held April 10-19.
The 5K will begin at 8 a.m., with the walk/run starting at 8:45. The starting location for the event is at the corner of Irvine Ave. and Pine St. across from Norton Auditorium. The race is being sponsored by Gold’s Gym in Florence.
Entry fees are as follows: $10 for pre-registered 5K participants, $12 for day-of-race registrants, $8 for pre-registered walk/run participants and $10 for day-of-race walk/run registrants.
All proceeds from entry fees will go to the ROTC’s Cadet Fund, which allows the cadets to attend and hold several events throughout the year, including participating in the Army 10-mile run in Washington, D.C. each fall, presenting award ceremonies and holding their annual military ball.
A t-shirt and refreshments will be provided for participants.
A waiver form must be signed before participants are allowed to take part in the race. To obtain a form, or for more information, contact the UNA ROTC office at 256-765-4271.
