UNA ROTC CADETS, CADRE TAKE RIDE ON CH47 CHINOOK
November 20, 2008
FLORENCE, Ala. — If you hear a loud noise overhead this Friday around midday, it’s just the University of North Alabama ROTC Cadets conducting a training exercise — and having a little fun while they’re at it. The Army ROTC program is taking an infiltration flight on an Alabama National Guard CH47 Chinook helicopter to its annual Fall Field Training Exercise, which will be conducted over three days this weekend.
The helicopter will land on the grass athletic practice field on Pine Street at noon for an orientation and safety brief. It will depart for the first of two missions at 12:30 p.m. to deliver the Cadets and Cadre to Camp Westmoreland, where they will conduct the training exercise.
