Actor Marc McClure to Appear at 2010 George Lindsey UNA Film Festival

FLORENCE, Ala. – Actor Marc McClure is scheduled to join fellow “Back to the Future” personalities Lea Thompson, Bob Gale and James Tolkan at the 13th annual George Lindsey UNA Film Festival March 4-7, 2010. McClure, who played the part of Marty McFly’s brother, Dave, appeared in “Back to the Future” as well as “Back to the Future Part III.”

McClure’s film career includes a number of recurring roles. In addition to Dave McFly, he played the character Boris in the 1976 version of “Freaky Friday” and its 2003 remake. McClure played the role of Jimmy Olson in “Superman” and all three of its sequels. He is the only actor to appear in all four of the “Superman” films as well as “Supergirl.”

Prior to “Back to the Future,” McClure worked with director Robert Zemeckis and writer Bob Gale on two films, “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” and “Used Cars.” He also worked with director Ron Howard on “Apollo 13” and “Frost/Nixon.”

McClure’s work in television includes the show “Happy Days,” “Eight Is Enough,” “The Shield,” “ER” and “Smallville.”

McClure lives with his family in California, where, in addition to acting, he makes music, works for various charities and teaches golf.

The George Lindsey UNA Film Festival is one of the few film festivals hosted by a university. The event was founded in 1998 by UNA alumnus and celebrated actor and entertainer George Lindsey. Lindsey’s own film career has included several important roles, including the character Goober Pyle on “The Andy Griffith Show.”
