Rachel Wammack is Miss University of North Alabama 2015

FLORENCE, Ala. – University of North Alabama junior, Rachel Wammack of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, was crowned Miss UNA 2015 at the Miss UNA “Winter Wonderland” Scholarship Pageant at Norton Auditorium this past Saturday, Jan. 24. Wammack will now move on to compete for Miss Alabama.
Wammack won the talent portion of the competition after she played the marimba and sang her own rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” She is an English and professional writing major.
Fourteen contestants competed for the title of Miss UNA 2015 in 5 stages of competition including interview, on-stage question, lifestyle and fitness, talent and evening wear. Junior, Meredith Hamner was named first runner-up for the second year in a row. Sophomore, Alexis Aday was named the second runner-up and winner of the Creative Jewelers Facebook ring design contest.
The Miss UNA Scholarship Pageant is an official preliminary for the Miss Alabama and Miss America pageants. The program provides an opportunity for contestants to compete for scholarship funding and prizes.
