Performance Scholarships
Performance scholarships are based on talent
and performance in specific areas. Auditions or try-outs may be required.
Application for admission to UNA is required. Terms of award are specified in
written scholarship agreement.
Athletics. UNA sponsors twelve varsity sports which compete in Division
II of the NCAA and Gulf South Conference. Athletic scholarship aid is awarded to
selected student-athletes participating in each of these sports. In accordance with
NCAA regulations, an athletic scholarship or grant-in-aid may cover the following costs:
tuition, fees, room, board, and course related books. The selection of student
recipients as well as the size of the scholarship award are determined by the head coach
of the respective sport. The NCAA also establishes a maximum number of scholarships
which can be awarded in each sport. Scholarship awards are made for a period of one
year and are renewable. Prospective student athletes should contact the head coach
in their sport for further information.
