In my more than 20 years of working in the field I have met countless interesting, and even very complicated people of all ages. One young violinist wrote to me a touching and thought-provoking paragraph about her feelings about music (it actually hangs on my office wall): "Music is a language marred with feeling and significance, though no language can truly define it. Like love, it is best understood when experienced! Words can only be defined with conveying specific ideas. Music is defined with overlapping tones expressing elusive states of mind. But everyone has their own definition for it; for music has a different hold on us all. That is the true beauty of it!"
