About UNA Summer Theatre

UNA Summer Theatre has as its mission the establishment of a professional resident theatre company at UNA dedicated to bringing the great classics of the American theatre tradition to the Shoals. UNA Summer Theatre has at its core a commitment to the highest standards of theatrical production on a scale previously unattained in this region, employing professional actors and technical personnel to work alongside UNA faculty and students.

Each year UNA Summer Theatre brings to the UNA campus professional Broadway and Hollywood theatre artists, providing them with an environment that is conducive to nurturing the creative processes of professional-caliber theatre. The visiting professional guest artists work in collaboration with a young company of actors, designers, and theatre technicians handpicked from current UNA theatre majors and UNA theatre alums, along with select individuals from the Shoals theatre community. This type of creative environment provides theatre professionals with an ideal setting in which to work, allowing them freedom and autonomy to nurture and inspire UNA students and local theatre artists.

The goal of UNA Summer Theatre is to make the UNA campus and the Shoals community a destination of choice for professional actors who seek a refreshing and invigorating summer venue in which to invest their creative energies and share their gifts with aspiring artists.
