In a fictitious world created by William Shakespeare, Leontes, King of Sicilia, spirals into a deep rage of jealousy, mistakenly suspecting his wife, Hermione, of having an adulterous affair with his childhood friend Polixenes, King of Bohemia.  The play begins in gloomy winter and displays the destructive nature of mistaken jealousy and the tragedy that follows such extreme tyranny.  But, in ture tragicomedy style, Shakespeare's second act presents the audience with the beauty of spring, which brings with it the gift of resurreciton, rebirth, and redemption.

George S. Lindsey Theatre

As an acting company is starting a routine rehearsal of The King Stag in the George S. Lindsey Theatre on the UNA campus, they are interrupted by the mysterious arrival of six people claiming to be characters, unfinished and abandoned by their author.  Though assumed by the actors to be lunatics, the characters soon lure the actors into their story and show them that the line between reality and fiction is often unclear.  Written in the early 20th century by Italian playwright Luigi Pirandello, Six Characters in Search of an Author is considered a landmark work of world dramatic literature, asking its audience to ponder the question: "What is reality?"

This play contains some language and subject matter of an adult nature.
