Scholarships

Thank you for your interest in becoming an important part of The University of North Alabama Bands. The UNA Music program offers a variety of bands in which to audition. Each band program offers various awards.

Band Scholarship Audition Requirements

Band Scholarship awards are granted to qualified student musicians without regard to academic major. Members are required to be enrolled in the university band and as a full-time student once coming to campus, and members must remain in good standing within the band program to retain a scholarship award.

The Band Scholarship awards are renewable throughout a student’s undergraduate career, and members have the option to re-audition for an increased scholarship award. Band Scholarship awards range from $200.00 to $1800.00 per semester with added stipends for Studio Jazz Band, Jazz Combo, and Jazz Band.

The Band Scholarship wind instrument audition requirements are as follows:

1) Three (3) chromatically-adjacent major scales (preferably two-octaves). [Example: B-flat, B, and C]

2) A two-octave chromatic scale.

3) A solo or etude of the student’s choice which allows the student to show his/her strengths as a musician.

4) Sight-reading (provided).
