About UNA Military and Veteran Affairs

The effort for establishing an Office of Military and Veteran Affairs and a Military and Veteran Support Center here at UNA began about two years ago when I realized that no single office or entity within the UNA administration specifically had the responsibility for military and Veteran students.  All of the various offices at UNA provide great service to all students including military and Veteran students, but there was no "Point-Man" (to use an Army term) or single source of advocacy for military and Veteran students.  So we began the effort to explore establishing the Office of Military and Veteran Affairs.  With the support of the President and the Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost, I have been working on this effort for the past year.  I am happy to report that we now have made significant progress and now have an active Military & Veteran Alliance on campus,  have received support and assistance from various Veteran Service Organizations in the community, and are actively seeking grants and other funding opportunities.  With the recent establishment of the Bachelors'  of Interdisciplinary Studies degree and the proposed Masters' of Professional Studies we have also begun to tailor academic programs specifically suited to military and Veteran students.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions or suggestions regarding Military and Veteran Affairs. - WPB
